Osvaldo Sold!

AS Roma and Southampton have agreed on a deal for striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. It is believed the deal is worth €18m plus a further €2m in performance-related bonuses. The contract includes wages of €3m per season. The sale brings an end to a tumultuous relationship between the striker, the club, and the fans. Despite scoring 27 goals in 55 appearances for Roma, the striker had an extremely rocky career at the capital club. Osvaldo had several disciplinary issues both on and off the field, one of which included punching teammate Erik Lamela in the face after the striker was unhappy that the winger did not pass him the ball.

Several names are being linked with Roma as a potential replacement for the departing Osvaldo. Some of those names include: Abel Hernandez (Palermo), Alberto Gilardino (Genoa), Adrián López Álvarez (Atletico Madrid), and Samuel Eto’o (Anzhi).
