The incredible form of A.S Roma continued as Roma dismantled Inter 3-0 in Milan at the Meazza. The victory keeps Roma at the top of the Serie A table heading into the international break.

As the match began, Inter looked to be the more dangerous team as attempts from Freddy Guarin and Ricky Alvarez were saved and knocked away by Morgan De Sanctis. Roma made Inter pay for their lack of finishing when Gervinho fed Totti with a beautiful pass and the captain finished beautifully from outside the area to give Roma a 1-0 lead.

Inter took control after the opening goal. The Nerazzurri pushed the Giallorossi into their half and looked fit to equalize. Freddy Guarin hit the woodwork and Saphir Taider’s free-kick went just wide for Inter as they were unable to find a goal.

Roma again punished Inter as Gervinho was able to glide past three Inter defenders and was eventually brought down in the box by Alvaro Pereira, resulting in a penalty for Roma. Francesco Totti buried the ensuing penalty and brought his Serie A goal tally to 230.

Just three minutes later, Roma cleared the ball on an Inter corner and Alessandro Florenzi ran the length of the pitch and finished off a beautiful counter-attack for the Giallorossi, putting the capital club up 3-0 heading into the break.

The second half provided very little action. Inter introduced Mauro Icardi and Diego Milito, but it was too little too late for the Milanese club as Roma was able to hold-off Inter’s attack. Roma, however, suffered one casualty as Federico Balzaretti was sent off for his second yellow card as the match finished Roma 3-0 Inter.

Roma head into the international break on top of the Serie A table with 21 points and return to action against Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico.
