Given Tsimikas’ return to Liverpool and Angelino’s possible departure, Roma wants to be ready on the left flank, and Gasperini has asked the club for a high-level reinforcement.

One name the club has been carefully exploring in recent hours is Diego Moreira, a Belgian player currently owned by Strasbourg.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Roma has informed the French club that they are willing to break the €35 million barrier, but the French club continues to demand more to let him leave.

Belgian journalist Sascha Tavolieri, meanwhile, writes that Moreira is getting closer to wearing the Giallorossi: a meeting with the player’s agents is scheduled for the next few hours to reach a final agreement and bring the Belgian full-back to the capital.

According to the Belgian transfer expert, the player has also given his approval for a move to Rome and is keen to be coached by Gian Piero Gasperini.

It remains to be seen whether Strasbourg will lower their asking price slightly, but the Giallorossi’s interest in the player is absolutely confirmed and they are determined to close the deal in the next few hours.
