Israel Reyes has been targeted by Roma, who are seeking a versatile defender like Celik, capable of covering the entire right flank and, if necessary, also adapting to a three-man back line.
A key player at the World Cup with Mexico and currently playing for Club America, Reyes is considered an indispensable addition to the Mexican club, who are keen to secure the experienced defender.
Reyes has made 147 appearances for the Mexican side in three and a half seasons.
As Mexican portal Excelsior reports, there is currently a gap between Club America’s request and Roma’s offer for Reyes. Roma reportedly valued the player at $3 million (approximately €2.5 million), a figure deemed unreasonable by the North Americans.
Club America values Israel Reyes at $8 million (€6.8 million) and is reportedly willing to negotiate a price tag of up to $6.5 million.
Reyes and his entourage are reportedly pushing for a transfer to Europe, but Roma are reluctant to settle for figures deemed excessive. Roma are also pursuing Fresneda of Sporting Lisbon.
