The possibility of Alessio Cacciamani joining Roma remains alive.
In recent days, comments from Torino president Urbano Cairo seemed to have dampened the possibility of a transfer, but now the scenario could change.
The 2007-born player, fresh from a season on loan at Juve Stabia, is a favorite of Ignazio Abate, who previously coached him in Campania and would like to continue working with him at Torino.
The discussion was reopened by Gianluca Petrachi, Torino’s technical director and former Roma sporting director.
Speaking to Sportitalia during the fourth Sandro Criscitiello Memorial in Avellino, the manager spoke openly about the winger’s future.
“He’s a very interesting youth player. He has to prove himself in Serie A, but he has everything it takes to grow, and grow a lot. He’s definitely being monitored. We’d like to continue with players like him, but we also have to deal with a market that sometimes offers absurd, insane prices that simply can’t be taken into consideration. We want to keep him,” Petrachi explained.
These words leave a glimmer of hope and could push Roma to return to the fray.
The Giallorossi could soon present a new offer, more attractive to Torino, in an attempt to bring the 2007-born player to the capital and provide Gasperini with Wesley’s backup on the left flank.
