Chris Smalling recently moved to Porto.
The former Roma defender spent two seasons in Saudi Arabia before choosing to end his career in Europe.
The English centre-back gave a short interview to the club’s official channels in which he discussed his career highlights, starting with his first goal for Manchester United, his first trophy, and his first goal for England.
The emotional Conference League victory with Roma in 2022 was a must-see, accompanied by celebrations that involved the entire city and surprised Smalling.
The English defender recalled his Conference League victory as one of the most emotional moments of his career to his new club, Porto: “I understood how important football was in Rome, just like here. In fact, that’s one of the reasons I became a Porto player.”
The English centre-back finished his spell in the capital with 155 appearances, scoring 10 goals and 4 assists. In his prime, he was a veritable wall of power.
