Gennaro Gattuso spoke about Gian Piero Gasperini from the stage at the Trento Sports Festival, an event organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Lazio coach discussed his relationship with the Roma manager, also recalling the support he received during the most difficult moments of his career. He then turned his attention to the Rome derby.
“Gasp, beyond the great coach he is, has always been there in difficult times. Even when I was coaching AC Milan, he called me and told me to hold on. We were coming out of a difficult period, we are similar, we are two strong characters. I would go to dinner with him, it would be an honor. After Sacchi, he brought new things: I and many colleagues try to do what he does.”
“Derby? When my guys talk about it, I stop them right away. We have important games first, we’ll think about it that week.”
