Roma could make a strong move for Jayden Oosterwolde in January.

The Fenerbahçe defender was ready to wear the Giallorossi jersey this summer, even undergoing a medical.

It was at this stage that Roma realized the injury the player was dealing with was more serious than expected.

The trail leading to the Dutchman, however, hasn’t faded; it remains alive in the background and could become a concrete topic again once the full-back has completed his recovery.

Oosterwolde was ready to wear the Roma jersey this summer. However, the tests performed before the transfer was made official left the Giallorossi with some doubts about the condition of his injury.

The Roma club was far-sighted: the 2001-born player suffered a torn muscle, requiring surgery that will keep him out of action for approximately three months.

As Corriere dello Sport reports, D’Amico continues to monitor the player, as does Gasperini, who had given his approval to the former Parma player’s arrival.

Once he recovers from his injury, Oosterwolde could once again become a concrete target for Roma. Despite the failed deal, their relationship has not been severed.

Confirmation was given in Istanbul: before the Champions League match against the Giallorossi, Oosterwolde went to greet some Roma players and then met with Gasperini and his staff.
