Roma will likely be without Mile Svilar for the next nine Serie A and Champions League matches, packed into just 28 days before the November break.

The number 99, who has become a key figure for the Giallorossi, fractured the fifth toe on his right foot during training on October 2nd.

As reported by Il Messaggero, in the coming days the medical staff will determine whether a screw will be necessary to stabilize the fracture. Any such procedure, however, is unlikely to impact the already scheduled recovery time.

The last time Roma played a Serie A match without Svilar was on February 10, 2024, during the Roma-Inter match. Pierluigi Gollini will replace Svilar, ready to return to the starting lineup after a long absence.

The goalkeeper made just one appearance in a year and a half for Roma, in the Europa League match against Panathinaikos.

To pinpoint his last Serie A appearance, we need to go back to October 5, 2024, when he was defending Genoa’s goal against Gasperini’s Atalanta.

This was a unique connection, considering the relationship between the two, who shared a four-year partnership in Bergamo.

During that experience, Gollini had established himself at a high level, even earning a call-up to the national team.

Subsequently, however, a dispute compromised his relationship with the coach, resulting in a separation that seemed to have definitively ended the possibility of a new collaboration.
