Bad news for Gian Piero Gasperini. The situation surrounding Lorenzo Pellegrini’s injury, sustained on Tuesday evening against Slovan Bratislava, is becoming more complicated.
Instrumental tests performed on Roma’s number seven have revealed a high-grade tear at the distal musculotendinous junction of the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh.
This diagnosis further complicates Gasperini’s plans. In his press conference, he had predicted a 20-day layoff for Pellegrini, who was already recovering from a long-term injury that had kept him out for six months.
Recovery times for a high-grade semitendinosus injury can require a layoff of six to ten weeks, depending on the player’s clinical evolution.
