Roma is securing its future, but still has several issues to resolve regarding contract renewals.
Two contracts have already been signed, although an official announcement has yet to be made for one: Emanuele Lulli and Giorgio De Marzi have extended their respective contracts until 2031.
Both were due to expire in June, and the Giallorossi have decided to continue their focus, securing two young players from Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
As reported by Il Tempo, four players remain with contracts expiring at the end of the season: Gollini, Hermoso, Pellegrini, and Dybala.
These are different situations, and the club is making separate assessments. For the goalkeeper, a further year seemed close to signing during the summer, and the club’s position hasn’t changed.
Optimism is also filtering through for Mario Hermoso. In the spring, Roma exercised their option to extend the Spaniard’s contract for another season, after he returned to excellent form under Gasperini. The coach has never hidden his admiration for the defender, and initial contacts to discuss his future have already taken place.
The situation of Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini, however, is more delicate. The club had opted for a one-year extension for both, precisely to give themselves more time to evaluate their performance on the pitch before making a final decision.
To know the future of La Joya and Pellegrini, we will likely have to wait until 2027. Roma wants to have a more complete picture of the two players’ appearances and contributions over the course of the season before deciding whether to continue together.
