It is beginning to look like it could be a very good season indeed for AS Roma and new manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Having made the move to the Stadio Olimpico from Atalanta on a three year deal over the summer, the 67 year old Grugliasco native has had a good start to life at the club and he has picked up five wins from our opening six Serie A league games, seeing us sat in joint first place right now with reigning title holders Napoli.

With the October international break now with us, some players will get an extended break and then be working hard on the training pitch in readiness for the return of proper football, but countries have also now announced their sides for this window and we know which Roma players will be off on duty and at this time of asking, eleven l Giallorossi have been handed that honour and for those fans who like a flutter and use the best free bets and betting offers for their punts, they will be seeing what odds appeal to them from the international round of games.

Zeki Celik (Turkey) – 11/10 v Bulgaria, 14/10 v Georgia
Bryan Cristante (Italy) – 11/10 v Estonia, 14/10 v Israel
Artem Dovbyk (Ukraine) – 10/10 v Iceland, 13/10 v Azerbaijan
Neil El Aynaoui (Morocco) – 09/10 v Bahrain, 14/10 v Congo
Evan Ferguson (Ireland) – 11/10 v Portugal, 14/10 v Armenia
Manu Kone (France) – 10/10 v Azerbaijan, 13/10 v Iceland
Gianluca Mancini (Italy) – 11/10 v Estonia, 14/10 v Israel
Evan Ndicka (Ivory Coast) – 10/10 v Seychelles, 14/10 v Kenya
Niccolo Pisilli (Italy U21) – 10/10 v Sweden, 14/10 v Armenia
Konstantinos Tsimikas (Greece) – 09/10 v Scotland, 12/10 v Denmark
Jan Ziolkowski (Poland) – 09/10 v New Zealand, 12/10 v Lithuania

Whilst fans will undoubtedly be paying attention to see how our players get on during this international break, and hopefully we see all of them come back unscathed and without injury, this pause in domestic football could also be exactly what the doctor ordered for Roma’s struggling attack as we have been hit with a spate of strains, sprains and they have taken their toll on our sharpness.

So news that summer loan signing Leon Bailey could now be ready to step up his own rehabilitation phase by returning to full group training can only be seen as a positive. The 28 year old, 39 capped Jamaican international attacker, made the switch during the summer European transfer window from English Premier League side Aston Villa but he unfortunately managed to pick up an injury during his very first training session with us. His return to fitness will however give us one thing that we sorely miss right now on an offensive front – pure, unadulterated speed and pace.

Should he return as the varying reports claim over the next fortnight, it could mean that the former Bayern Leverkusen talent could be ready to make his club debut on October 18th as football returns and we host Cristian Chivu’s Inter Milan side on home soil. His father and agent certainly has faith in his son as he has now been quoted by outlets confirming the return to fitness reports, and then going further by claiming that his son would now take the team to ‘heights no one can imagine’. Adding quite humorously ‘watch, and get your popcorn ready’.

Let us hope he is even half close to the impact Leon will have when he pulls the shirt on for the first time.
