Roma’s winter transfer window ended with a veritable revolution in attack.

Four players arrived (Donyell Malen, Robinio Vaz, Lorenzo Venturino, and Bryan Zaragoza) and two left Trigoria: Tommaso Baldanzi, heading to Genoa, and Leon Bailey, who returned to Aston Villa.

For the latter, the Jamaican, it was a less than positive experience in the shadow of the Colosseum.

Arriving at the end of August, three injuries, starting from the first training session, affected his performances.

The 1997-born player made very few appearances and scored no goals.

Bailey returned to Aston Villa, welcomed back with open arms by both manager Unai Emery and the Villains’ fans. Following his return, his father and agent Craig Butler clarified his early departure from Roma.

He told CVM Television: “He didn’t return to Aston Villa because Roma didn’t want him, but because the club needed him. They wanted him back because they needed a player of his caliber.”
