According to the latest whispers in Italy, Roma are finalizing the free signing of Leonardo Bonucci from Union Berlin.

After a brief spell in the German Bundesliga, Bonucci is eager to make his return to Serie A where Jose Mourinho’s Roma are waiting to welcome him on a short-deal for the remainder of the season.

In Sky Sport’s latest report, Bonucci’s eventual arrival in the Italian capital would not prevent Roma from seeking an additional defender in the January window.

Roma are famously looking for reinforcements to try and compensate for Chris Smalling’s prolonged injury absence and Evan Ndicka’s imminent departure for AFCON with the Ivory Coast national team.
