Roma continues to scout in England to strengthen their squad ahead of the January transfer window.

After conducting inquiries with Manchester United regarding Joshua Zirkzee—a concrete possibility, but one tied to a loan deal—the Giallorossi are also considering a midfield move.

According to today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, Leicester City’s French midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, born in 1999, is in their sights as his contract nears its expiry date.

This makes the deal potentially advantageous: the English club could let him leave for less than €10 million, as long as they don’t lose him on a free transfer in the summer.

Soumaré would be an ideal fit for Gasperini, a physical midfielder with good technique, capable of providing balance and coverage in front of the defense.

Roma is monitoring the 26-year-old Frenchman’s situation, ready to make a move if the right financial opportunities arise.
