Cagliari manager Davide Nicola previewed the match with Roma in the opening round of Serie A for the 24/25 season.
The Italian technician spoke to the media on Saturday afternoon and discussed the challenge that awaits his side vs De Rossi’s men.
“Roma have a lot of quality and the ability to put you in difficulty,” Nicola told reporters.
“We will need to show courage, and above all humility. We will have to work as a team, but with the awareness of being able to hurt the opponent. Roma will certainly do the same to us,” he added.
“De Rossi is a person I respect, we talk sometimes, he is a person I appreciate. Meeting such a competitive team allows us to raise the bar.”
“Tomorrow will be a match where we will have to demonstrate our identity. I’ll change something in the lineup, it’s a team that knows how to occupy spaces and can put us in difficulty.”
“But it’s a type of match that helps you grow because it’s a quality team. It will be an interesting start to the championship for us and I’m curious to see my team on the pitch.”
“Dybala? Extraordinary player, but I expect everything from them. But Roma also have other great players and I focus on this.”
