Cagliari are no longer looking to get a deal done for Eldor Shomurodov.

The Uzbeki striker failed to convince the Sardinian side.

The ex-Genoa man only collected 3 goals in over 20 appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s team.

After spending the last season on loan there, Shomurodov will make his return to Roma.

According to Il Tempo, Cagliari had already declined the buy option for €9 million included in the initial loan deal.

However, the Sardinian side also decided against pursuing more negotiations with Roma over a new loan.

Now, the player is to make his return to Trigoria where Roma will have to consider other possible destinations for him.
