Cagliari have decided against activating the buy option for Eldor Shomurodov.
The Uzbeki striker recently concluded his loan in Sardinia, collecting only 3 goals and 3 assists in 24 appearances.
The player, however, will not be extending his stay at Cagliari.
As reported by Sky Sport, the decision has already been communicated to Shomurodov and Roma.
Shomurodov is thus expected to be back in the Italian capital for training camp in July.
Roma have made it clear that they do not intend to include Shomurodov in their future plans.
The capital club will now begin the search for a new destination in hope of securing a permanent exit for the ex-Genoa man.
