Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s president, discussed Jadon Sancho’s career path in the aftermath of his decision to reject Roma’s offer.

As reported by La Repubblica, Boehly explained Chelsea’s decision to not extend the Englishman’s stay in London and criticized the player’s work ethic.

“We had an agreement to buy him for €20 million, but last season the player missed several training sessions, including a match at the stadium.”

“He spent the night chatting with his girlfriend, slept during the day, and then, whenever he had two days off, he went to Los Angeles to visit his beloved. That’s why we chose to pay the penalty.”
