Chris Smalling’s return to the pitch remains unclear as the Englishman is still nursing an injury.
The veteran centreback is nearing almost 3 months of action missed due to a chronic injury in his knee.
According to La Repubblica, Roma are growing increasingly impatient with Smalling who has not shown signs of improvement.
The player could evaluate a departure from the club in January. The newspaper claims Smalling expressed his interest in playing in the Saudi Pro League.
However, at the moment no offers for the 34-year-old ex-Man United man have arrived at Roma’s doorstep.
