Roma are eliminated from the Europa League.
At the Olimpico, Bologna beat the Giallorossi 4-3 after extra time and advanced to the quarterfinals.
A double humiliation for the Giallorossi, who were always trailing and had recovered from two goals down in the second half.
After the match, Cristante spoke to Sky Sport.
Who do you blame for this defeat? “Ourselves. We shouldn’t have conceded so many goals. We did a great job of coming back, and in extra time, we were in control.”
The fans ultimately rejected you: “We’re all disappointed, and so are the fans. It’s tough; we wanted to advance, and we’d recovered.”
Is it due to fatigue? “At certain points in the season, it’s normal to feel more tired. We were there to advance, but now there’s little to complain about. We have to roll up our sleeves; Sunday is a crucial match.”
