Daniele De Rossi continues to impress since his surprise appointment in January in place of former Roma manager Jose Mourinho.
The Roma legend – with only an unsuccessful spell with SPAL in Serie B the previous year – was able to slot in and turn things around, propelling the Giallorossi to a strong reaction both in Europa League and Serie A.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, De Rossi’s in-season heroics have not gone unnoticed on the European stage.
The newspaper states that De Rossi is the in-season head coach with the highest points average collected in Europe so far – 2.44 points per game with a 77.8% win rate in 13 games.
With De Rossi on the bench, the Giallorossi scored 23 goals in his nine in Serie A, with the highest scoring percentage (25%), better than any other team in the league.
