Roma manager Daniele De Rossi paid specific attention to Romelu Lukaku in last night’s post-match press conference.
Following the Giallorossi’s triumph over Feyenoord, De Rossi was asked about Lukaku – after the Belgian striker failed to score and was responsible for Roma’s sole penalty miss in the shoot-out with Arne Slot’s men.
“The relationship we have is wonderful, he is an incredible professional and ran like hell all night long, in the 121st minute he was about to take us to the round of 16 directly, perhaps it was more exciting that way, for him it would have been better to end it there.”
“The hug we gave each other was emotional, I’m starting to grow fond of the boys, they look after me personally and from a coaching point of view, they showed me that what I do is valid, they trust me, they never give up.”
