Roma manager Daniele De Rossi paid special tribute to Stephan El Shaarawy following tonight’s win over Milan.
After helping lead his team to another European semifinal, De Rossi spoke to Rai Sport about El Shaarawy’s performance which he called “incredible”.
“Making mentions like this is bad, I could mention everyone, even those on the bench. Because they were all phenomenal and deserve my praise.”
“I have known El Shaarawy for many years, when he was a kid he wasn’t this kind of player. He was all about style but with less substance. He wasn’t a man yet.”
“What he did tonight was incredible, in the defensive phase, he defended, he intercepted with his head, he led counterattacks. He did everything. It was really nice to see, it makes me very proud.”
