Daniele De Rossi spoke to Sky Sport after Genoa-Roma.

The Rossoblu coach began by praising his team’s performance: “I hoped the match would end like this. I’m here to do my job, I’m starting to care about this club. Our players played a great match, and I can’t be any less, whether it’s Roma or another team.”

Regarding the match preparation and Vitinha’s goal, the Genoa coach had no doubts: “The match went as we had planned, that’s how I imagined it. I told my players we’d decide the game with the substitutes, and Vitinha’s goal was no coincidence. We deserved these three points.”

Regarding the decision to use inverted players, De Rossi said: “Roma attack you hard, and it’s an advantage to have inverted players. Today my proposal worked, the players are available, and this allows you to try things, which are actually quite normal choices.”

The coach concluded his speech by talking about Roma and Malen, and praising Ostigard: “Roma is strong, if you let them play, strong players emerge. I was afraid of Malen, who I didn’t know, but he’s an incredible player. Ostigard is stronger than I thought.”
