Diego Llorente’s stay at Roma is not as guaranteed as it seemed just less than a week ago.
The Spanish defender was, by all accounts, ready to complete a permanent move to the Italian capital after two consecutive loans from Leeds United.
Llorente had reportedly impressed the club and was aiming to extend his stay at Roma for at least one more year.
However, Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma have yet to take a final decision on the matter of Llorente’s future.
With Marash Kumbulla returning from his loan at Sassuolo, Roma could reconsider Llorente’s situation.
Kumbulla is coming off a lengthy period of absence from the pitch and a problematic return since his ACL injury.
The player, however, will represent Albania at EURO 2024.
The newspaper suggest that Roma could choose Kumbulla to serve as a back-up option to Ndicka-Mancini with Llorente potentially gone.
