During the Ukraine national team’s training camp, Artem Dovbyk discussed one of the most difficult moments of his career.
Namely, Roma’s three missed penalties in the Europa League match against Lille. It was an incident that defined the match, one that the striker analyzed with clarity and regret.
“The match against Lille was a truly unpleasant moment in my career, and it’s the first one at this level,” he said.
“The team supported me all the way, and the next day, the fact that we didn’t score three penalties wasn’t discussed. The overall flow of the match was analyzed more deeply. It was a difficult match, and we didn’t play at our level.”
“I analyzed the penalties, and the only thing I regret is not taking the third, really. That’s something I’m very sorry about.”
