Three consecutive benchings that risk becoming four. Paulo Dybala is set to start once again as a substitute on Monday night against Nico Paz’s Como.

The Argentine’s form is still not optimal, as evidenced by the snippets of the games against Napoli, Cagliari, and Celtic. Gasperini also finds it difficult to leave out players like Lorenzo Pellegrini and Evan Ferguson, while the other spot in the attacking trio is reserved for Matias Soulé, who has also distinguished himself as one of the best players on the pitch in Scotland.

This isn’t a dismissal of Dybala, whom the coach considers one of the most important technical resources in the squad, but Gasperini needs more.

Currently, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the Argentine isn’t delivering what the coach expects—the renowned consistency that the former Atalanta player has repeatedly mentioned in his press conferences.

Meanwhile, some good news comes from the infirmary: after Angelino’s return, it’s Dovbyk’s turn, who will be back in the squad for Monday night’s match.

The Ukrainian striker’s return adds a new option to the attacking lineup, giving Gasperini more options for the upcoming match against Fabregas’ Como side.
