Roma’s superb 3-0 victory at Celtic on Thursday boosted their chances of progressing to the knockout stage of the 2025/26 Europa League.
The Serie A giants are now tenth in the standings, just one point adrift of the final automatic qualification place with two games remaining.
However, with fixtures to come against Stuttgart (H) and Panathinaikos (A), Roma will not find it easy to force their way into the top eight.
Read on as we look at the latest outright betting for the Europa League, before assessing Roma’s chances of going straight through to the last-16.

Europa League 2025/26 – Four points could be enough for Roma
Just five points cover the top 17 teams in the league phase standings, highlighting the competitive nature of UEFA’s second-tier tournament.
After Roma’s excellent victory at Celtic, manager Gia Piero Gasperini admitted that the Europa League presented a vastly different challenge to Serie A.
“In Europe you face the best teams in their leagues,” he said. “The games are more open, because teams play with confidence and conviction and attack in numbers.
“It’s a different kind of football from Italian football, where there’s often less space and less chance to play your game.
“As a result, you have to deal with deadly strikers. It’s a different type of football. I wouldn’t say it’s easier, but it’s different.”
A victory over Stuttgart in their next outing would significantly enhance Roma’s chances of ending the league phase inside the top eight.
The Bundesliga side have the same number of points as Roma heading into that game, but are currently ahead of them on goal difference.
Three points should move Gasperini’s side into an automatic qualification place, with most of the other teams ahead of them facing tough fixtures on Matchday 7.
A victory would set Roma up nicely for their final league phase fixture at Panathinaikos, where a point could be good enough to progress straight into the last-16.
Several of the other teams vying for a top-eight spot still have to face each other, so a four-point haul from the last two games should get the job done for Roma.
Gasperini will be keen to avoid the knockout play-off round to ensure that his team avoids a fixture pile-up during the second half of the season. If Roma replicate the performance they delivered at Celtic in their final two games, they should comfortably finish inside the top eight.
