Evan Ferguson accepts Ireland’s call-up despite injury

Roma won in Florence, redeeming themselves after their European defeat to Lille.

Dovbyk played at the center of the Giallorossi attack, with Dybala later coming on as a false nine.

Gasperini had to do without Ferguson, who had a physical problem. The coach admitted after the match: “He had an ankle problem and was unable to play.”

The striker underwent an MRI scan on Saturday, while he was called up yesterday but did not play.

Ferguson has, however, been called up to the Ireland squad for the matches against Portugal and Armenia.

His condition will be monitored by the national team doctors; he will most likely miss the first match against the Iberian team.
