The biggest surprise after three months of Serie A is undoubtedly Cesc Fabregas’ Como.
The Lombardy side, who acquired several excellent players this summer, currently sits seventh in the table and would qualify for the Conference League if the season ended today. Led by the quality and flair of Nico Paz, Fabregas’ men also boast an excellent defense.
After Roma, the best defense in Europe’s top five leagues, is Como: they’ve conceded only six goals in eleven games. So far, Como have earned 18 points, their only defeat coming at the Stadio Dall’Ara, a 1-0 defeat against Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna.
The impressive results against Lazio, Fiorentina, and Juventus have definitively established the former Spanish player’s young team, which is a serious contender for a European spot this season.
The match against Roma is just around the corner: on December 15th at 8:45 PM, the two teams will battle it out in a match that promises to be exciting and entertaining.
Interviewed by La Provincia di Como, Fabregas praised Gian Piero Gasperini and the excellent work he’s doing so far with the Giallorossi: “I really like his style of play and his mentality.”
The Spaniard then focused on the two talented attackers from the capital, the Argentine duo Dybala and Soulé: “They’re players who make a splash, and you can only applaud…”
