The latest whispers from Holland suggest Roma have taken a strong interest in Dutch attacker Memphis Depay.

Roma and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi are exploring different market options, both incoming and outgoing, with particular attention to the future of Paulo Dybala.

The Argentine’s decision will be crucial for the club’s strategies, since, in the event of his departure, the Giallorossi will have to look for a quality replacement for the number 21.

According to Dutch newspaper VoetbalInternational, one of the hottest names on Roma’s radar is Memphis Depay.

The Dutch forward is currently a free agent after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired on June 30.

Depay rejected offers from MLS and PSV over the summer as he believes he can still compete at a high level in Europe.

In addition to Roma, Porto and several Premier League clubs are interested in the player.

Depay would be an ideal choice to replace Dybala, thanks to his international experience and versatility in attack.

Roma could exploit the fact that the Dutchman is a free agent to close an advantageous deal, even if the competition is high, and Depay’s salary demands remain elevated.
