Roma closed out their 2025 campaign with a victory against Genoa.

After the 3-1 victory over Daniele De Rossi’s team, Gian Piero Gasperini commented on his team’s performance to Sky Sport: “We created a lot of chances and were dangerous. It’s a shame about the second half.”

The Giallorossi coach also focused on the attack and the decision to start with a center forward: “Do you win more often with a center forward? I don’t know the statistics; Ferguson always played when he wasn’t injured.”

Gasperini then spoke about Dybala: “If he’s not injured, he plays. Roma don’t have players of such high quality. When he’s fit like tonight, the attacking moves are developed in one way; when he has a few aches and pains, he doesn’t respond in games like tonight.”

“But even halfway is fine, because right now he shouldn’t be out, he should be playing.”

Regarding Koné’s room for improvement, the Roma coach said: “There’s room for improvement in all the players. We have to look at the glass half full. He’s a regular French international, he has extraordinary characteristics in some respects; if he could score a few more goals… I think he has room for improvement in that area too.”
