Gian Piero Gasperini briefly addressed the recent rumors linking him with a job in the Italian capital.

Over recent weeks, the Italian technician has been linked as Claudio Ranieri’s successor at Roma.

The Atalanta coach was a guest this morning in Rome at the Salone d’onore del CONI for the award ceremony of the XIV Edition of the Enzo Bearzot National Prize, an award organized by the Unione Sportiva Acli with the patronage of the FIGC.

When leaving the event, Gasperini spoke to Rai Sport.

“Roma? They have Ranieri who is a great coach,” he said.

“Rome is a great place. And Roma have an incredible fanbase,” he added. “For me it’s a great pride to have their interest, but right now we’re going day by day.”

“It’s difficult to predict the future. Roma is like the national team, everybody wants it.”
