The away match at the Marassi against Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa is turning into a showcase for emerging talent.

On a night marred by significant absences, Gian Piero Gasperini is ready to showcase the Trigoria “laboratory,” taking on an opponent who, under De Rossi, has made developing young players a strength.

At Roma, the spotlight is on Venturino, a candidate for Dybala’s backup in the attacking midfield. Alongside him, Ghilardi, recently signed from Verona, and Pisilli will be playing.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports a transfer anecdote about the latter: the midfielder seemed destined for Genoa at De Rossi’s request, but Gasperini chose to keep him with a promise: “Here you will become the Koné or Cristante of the future.”

The coach’s confidence is backed by facts, as demonstrated by the performances of Ziolkowski—who scored the qualifying goal against Panathinaikos—and the courage of Venturino himself.

And, after launching Arena in the Coppa Italia, Gasperini is ready to throw Vaz into the mix, having arrived from Marseille for €25 million.
