It’s going to be a long weekend for Roma’s players, whom Gian Piero Gasperini has granted three days of rest and has set a date for Tuesday afternoon in Trigoria.
The Grugliasco-born coach is aiming to begin the week with his men preparing for the crucial match against Como, scheduled for Sunday, October 11th, at 12:30 PM at the Stadio Sinigaglia.
For the match against Cesc Fabregas’s side, however, Gasperini will likely be without Bryan Cristante. Roma’s number 4 has suffered a knee injury that will force him to withdraw. But the Giallorossi are not sounding the alarm.
The Giallorossi boss is ready to field his trusted man, who arrived in the capital in the final hours of the transfer window. Marten De Roon, who has yet to make his starting debut, could reverse this trend at the Sinigaglia.
According to Il Corriere della Sera, the Dutchman seems the favorite to partner Koné in midfield. The former Atalanta player is one of the very few players to have spent the three-week international break entirely at Trigoria and is reportedly a strong contender for a starting spot.
