Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini sounded disappointed but not defeated in the aftermath of the 3-3 draw with Juventus.
In his post-match press conference, Gasperini was harsh on the team’s spirits after the performance: “I can’t let myself get too negative… We’re disappointed not to have won this match.”
“Juventus celebrated as if they’d won, and we should pressure? Cheer up. We have to play until the end. You don’t get depressed after a match like that.”
“We’re not going to give up because of that. A bit of satisfaction for a team that plays like that.”
When asked about the team’s mistakes in the final minutes, the coach was ironic: “I agree, but we would have been too perfect, but this way we can work (laughs). We tamed a strong team, but it’s precisely strong teams that have the resources to do what Juventus did.”
