This evening, Roma will face Juventus in a Champions League playoff.

The Giallorossi, who haven’t won at home to the Bianconeri since 2020, have a four-point advantage over Spalletti’s men, a result earned thanks to a more than positive first half of the season. Gasperini has few doubts about his starting lineup, but he must contend with Mario Hermoso’s condition.

As the coach explained in his press conference, the Spanish defender is struggling with muscle strain, but is still included in the squad.

As Il Tempo reports, Hermoso will undergo a crucial test this morning to determine whether he will be fit.

If he withdraws, Gasperini will have to reconsider his defensive plans, as Ndicka has already left for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Celik returns from suspension against Juventus and will take up a defensive spot on the center-right flank, with Mancini in the center and Hermoso on the left.

If the Spaniard is unable to make the cut, one of Ziolkowski, Ghilardi, or Resnch will be available. The Dutchman is favored to start on the left flank, with Wesley on the right flank.

Gasperini faces another doubt in attack. Soulé and Pellegrini are both guaranteed spots, but the center-forward spot remains a contest between Ferguson and Dybala.

The Irishman is the favorite, thanks in part to his recent positive performances against Celtic and Como. But Dybala is itching to play against his former team, and if Gasperini sees him in form, it could be his game.
