Roma have the opportunity to potentially sign veteran defender Mats Hummels on a free transfer.

In recent days, the Giallorossi were offered Hummels’ services.

The 35-year-old centreback, fresh off a Champions League final, decided to leave Borussia Dortmund and is now a free agent.

His entourage proposed him to both Roma and Milan. However, only the Giallorossi showed interest.

According to Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, Roma continues to study the overall costs of the Hummels operation.

The player’s request to the Giallorossi is for a two-year deal: evaluations are underway in Trigoria, where they are also trying to find a solution for Smalling, whose farewell would free up space (especially in financial terms) for the former Bayern player.
