Italian agent and intermediary Valerio Giuffrida recounted the deal involving Artem Dovbyk to Roma from Girona this past summer.
Giuffrida, agent of players such as Albert Gudmundsson, Maduka Okoye and Hamed Traoré, revealed exclusively to Tuttomercatoweb.com some behind-the-scenes information on the transfer market, also underlining the difficulty in the negotiations for Artem Dovbyk.
“Now, this was a complicated transfer,” said Giuffrida. “My brother Gabriele knows something about it, having spent the nights before in Girona and then in the offices in Trigoria.”
“Several Premier League clubs wanted Dovbyk and, as is well known, Atletico Madrid, with whom a real sporting battle was triggered.”
“His desire was always to go to Roma because he felt an instinctive bond with this club,” he added.
“The Giallorossi, on the other hand, also had to make a great financial effort, having identified Dovbyk as the ideal striker for this season.”
