Roma continues their search for a capable left wingback in this winter transfer window.

Sporting director Frederic Massara is working to provide Gian Piero Gasperini with a new winger suited to his playing system.

Among the candidates proposed in recent weeks is Nuno Tavares, currently playing for Lazio but not part of Maurizio Sarri’s coaching project.

The possibility of a sensational move to the Giallorossi has been suggested by intermediaries, as revealed by Radio Manà Manà.

However, Roma management have decided not to pursue the matter further, ruling out negotiations a priori.

Environmental and strategic considerations weighed on the decision, which led the club to not consider the Portuguese player as a viable option this transfer window.

With Nuno Tavares out of the running, Roma will continue their market search to identify an alternative more compatible with the coach’s tactical needs and the balance of the dressing room. The hottest names at the moment are Fiorentina’s Fortini and Tottenham’s Tel.
