Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini returned to last night’s starting eleven after being out with a head injury.
The Italian midfielder sounded proud of his team’s effort to guarantee their position in the next Europa League round.
“I’m proud of my teammates, we’re on an important journey that occasionally has had a few stops here and there but I’m always positive,” Pellegrini told Roma TV after the game.
“We didn’t mind coming here to defend the result we deservedly achieved at home. We did it today and we’re going to the quarterfinals.”
“It will be very important to recover our energy, today was both a physical and mental battle. Now there will be another one in the derby.”
