Manu Koné’s future continues to be a real transfer puzzle.
The French midfielder could leave Roma, but a decisive offer capable of breaking the deadlock is still lacking. Roma is willing to listen to offers, but has set a clear valuation: €60 million, a figure no club has yet offered.
There’s no shortage of suitors, but the financial conditions imposed by Roma are slowing down any possible development.
Among the most interested teams are Manchester United and Al Ahli, both of whom are keeping an eye on the player’s situation, as he is considered one of the most promising prospects in European midfield.
For the Red Devils, however, the Koné option is becoming more complicated. Beyond internal doubts about the true value of the move, the English club has other priorities at this stage of the transfer market.
After already making significant investments in Tielemans and Santos, totaling nearly €100 million, United must first focus on sales to rebalance their finances.
As reported by The Sun, it will be necessary to free up space in the squad before a new signing. Furthermore, manager Michael Carrick has reportedly prioritized the arrival of a left winger, postponing any interventions in midfield until later.
The possibility of not playing in that area at all has not been ruled out. In this scenario, the possible tactical evolution of Mason Mount becomes crucial, as he could move back and become a third midfielder.
This move would further reduce the space available for a potential arrival of Koné. Further complicating Manchester United’s plans is the major transfer target: Aurélien Tchouameni, considered the real dream to strengthen the midfield.
This would be a complex and very expensive operation, which would absorb a large portion of the available resources to bring the French Real Madrid midfielder to Old Trafford.
