In the 29th minute of the match between Udinese and Roma at the Bluenergy Stadium, Gianluca Mancini collapsed to the ground following a heavy collision with midfielder Arthur Atta.
The Giallorossi defender suffered the worst of the injury, bleeding and requiring medical attention.
Examinations conducted in the hours that followed revealed a fractured nasal bone for the number 23, who underwent surgery to repair the fracture.
After his nose surgery, Mancini will be discharged in the next few hours and will be able to resume competitive training while wearing a protective mask.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, his presence in the match on Monday, February 9th at the Stadio Olimpico against Pisacane’s Cagliari is unlikely to be at risk.
