It’s not just the youngsters, the other side of Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad is blue-eyed and has a smile plastered across its face.

Mario Hermoso has seen a lot and has shown everyone how to reclaim his place with desire and determination.

At the start of the coach’s tenure at the Giallorossi, the Spaniard was the first suspect to leave Trigoria.

In training, however, the 1995-born player has consistently been among the most convincing, and he started against Bologna and Pisa.

The defender has followed the path that Lorenzo Pellegrini and Artem Dovbyk dream of replicating.

The coach uses his leadership qualities to inspire the youngsters, and in training, he’s the first to mentor his teammates.

Given his qualities, financial considerations—writes La Gazzetta dello Sport— have taken a back seat, and it’s unlikely Gasperini will let him go.

Obviously, his long-term success will require management, and his place could be taken by Zeki Celik or one of Jan Ziolkowski and Daniele Ghilardi.

For the match against Torino scheduled for Sunday 14 September at 12:30, however, the Spaniard is preparing to lead the defensive line once more.
