José Mourinho is starting over at Real Madrid.

After 13 years, he’s returned to the Blancos’ bench and is ready to lift the team from the ashes. There are several players in the locker room in need of a “commander,” and the Special One is the right man.

During his years roaming Europe, the Portuguese coach also coached Roma. In the capital, he won a trophy, the Conference League, and made his name in the club’s history.

Mourinho has remained loyal to the Giallorossi, and in his new team’s presentation press conference, he emphasized that the Roman club is among the teams he “has feelings for.”

Mourinho first spoke about the years spent away from Madrid: “I’m not someone who regrets or misses it. I left Portugal twenty years ago and only returned for a few months last year. I’m not someone who lives in nostalgia. I don’t think about what I’m leaving behind. After every title Madrid won, I’d get a call from the president. I always replied: ‘No, it has nothing to do with me.’ I’m pleased that my work has left positive things, but those titles belong to Carlo, to Zidane, to the players, to the people, to a team I’ve always followed with affection.”

Then the Special One focused on the teams that remain close to his heart: “If you ask me if I feel something for Roma, Inter, Chelsea… yes, I do. I always want them to do well. I won’t talk about Benfica because there’s something more there than those teams.”
