Pisilli linked with move to Genoa in January

A stellar performance with the Italy Under-21s and a wonder goal against Poland may not be enough.

The main factor in Niccolò Pisilli’s performance in this first half of the season is the limited playing time Gasperini has received with Roma.

And even in that limited time, nothing has seemed to prompt the Giallorossi coach to rethink the midfield hierarchy. So, January could be a good time to say goodbye to the capital.

Perhaps on loan and just to gain experience. There’s even an interested club: Genoa, coached by Daniele De Rossi.

Niccolò’s childhood idol, who later became his coach and friend, holds the Giallorossi number 61 in high regard.

For now, there’s only talk of an inquiry; there’s no official contact between the parties, Il Messaggero reports.

The idea, however, could be perfect for all parties involved: Roma could bring a midfielder to Trigoria who’s better suited to Gasperini’s style, Pisilli would play more, and Genoa would have fresh players to try to avoid relegation, a mission DDR is called upon to undertake.
