Roma and Chelsea are in contact for the potential loan of defender Trevoh Chalobah.

After withdrawing from talks with Leonardo Bonucci’s entourage, the capital club have began their search for an alternative option to further reinforce the team’s defense in January.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Trevoh Chalobah remains the most viable option for the Giallorossi – the centreback is eager to leave the Blues on loan and the costs relating to an eventual deal are deemed favorable to Roma.

Furthermore, the positive relations between the two clubs could facilitate a successful conclusion to the negotiations.

Chalobah’s salary is also attainable for Roma’s financial capabilities – the defender earns around €1.5 million.
