Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil lamented the way his side dropped out of this year’s Europa League tournament after two hard fought matches against Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
In his post-match presser, Alguacil remarked, “We were very close to an equalizer, but with a team like Roma the return leg was always going to be very difficult.”
“Details matter and they scored two goals, for what we created we deserved at least one goal. Too bad we didn’t succeed, everything foreshadowed that we would make it.”
“We had the best opportunities, but they did better. We did a lot but not enough to advance. We were eliminated for small details.”
