As Roma prepare for the upcoming season, the club continues to search for reinforcements in midfield — and a new name has emerged from Turkey.
According to a report from Joueurs Turcs, Roma have opened talks with Benfica midfielder Orkun Kokcu. The Turkish international is reportedly eager to leave the Portuguese side and is once again on the Giallorossi’s radar, having previously been tracked during his time at Feyenoord.
The 24 year-old is coming off two solid seasons with the Portuguese giants, collecting 19 goals and 22 assists in 98 appearances across all competitions.
Known for his vision, passing range, and ability to contribute in both phases of play, he would bring added creativity and dynamism to Roma’s midfield under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Discussions are said to be in the early stages, but the capital club could look to step up negotiations in the coming weeks as they look to reshape the squad.
